And fix your taskbar which shows in fullscreen while using Chrome.

But in this tutorial, I will be using some taskbar settings to activate the speaker icon or volume icon in windows 10.

So Let's get started.

1. Enable or activate Volume Icon

First, check for the volume icon is missing from the taskbar or not. And if it is missing or greyed out then it means that the volume icon is not active.

And to activate it follow these steps.

  • Go to Taskbar Settings, by Right-Clicking on the taskbar & select Taskbar Settings.

    Taskbar Settings

Now Scroll down to the Notification area & Click on Select which icons appear on the taskbar.

Select which icons appear on the taskbar

Now search for Volume Speakers Icon & Enable it.

2. Restarting Windows Explorer

This simple trick can almost fix every kind of taskbar issue like taskbar showing in fullscreen & definitely the Volume icon not working problem also.

So follow these steps:-
  • Go to Task Manager, by pressing "Ctrl + Shift + Esc" simultaneously.

    Task Manager

In the Processes Tab, search for the "Windows Explorer" & then Restart it.

Hopefully, this trick has fixed your sound icon issue & if not then Step 3 is for you.

3. Update Sound Driver

This step is one of my favorite trick which I personally recommend.

I know updating drivers is pretty boring and time-consuming but this is the only safest way to fix your issues in one go.

You just have to update your drivers and Done!

You can also use any kind of driver update utility to update, Reinstall or Repair these drivers.

Like Intel Driver Update Utility or you can also use Driver Booster.

That's it! Now go and check your windows 10 volume control is working or not.

Conclusion

So that's how you can easily fix your taskbar volume icon problem in Windows 10 or Windows 7 by following these 3 simple steps.

Hopefully, this post has helped you in fixing this issue.
