We have already created multiple guides for these chips but this intel processors series is pretty different. Because Microsoft only added 3 CPUs of the 7th generation which include i7-7800X, i7-7820HQ, and i7-7820X, and left the i7-7820HK which is almost similar to this series.
Although, this processor is very powerful but the only specs in which it lacks are the Stable Image Platform Program (SIPP), vPro Tech, and Trusted Execution whereas the other CPUs have them. And I think that’s why the PC Health Check app shows that it is not supported when checked for compatibility tests. Apart from that, the HQ version is also an exception which only works for some special devices having modern drivers and architecture.
Is the 7th gen i7 supported for Windows 11?
Yes, the 7th generation of i7 processor is officially supported by Windows 11 but there are only very few processors which we have already mentioned above. Moreover, there are many users who have used the Windows Insider preview version on these CPUs but they are afraid that they won’t be able to update to the newer stable version. And the worst thing is that there are many chips like i7 6900k which are not compatible even after having all specifications like Secure Boot, TPM 2.0, RAM, and System Storage.
Will an Intel i7-7820HK CPU work with Windows 11?
No, I don’t think Intel Core i7-7820HK will ever work with Windows 11 because it already has been a year since the company updated the intel processors list and till now no new CPUs are added. But there are still some ways that anyone can use to experience this operating system by just performing some simple hacks. And the best part is that many i7 users have installed this OS on 5th-generation chips like i7-5600u and i7 5930k. So, this means if you also have some similar devices then they can be used with this latest operating system.
Can i7 11800H run Windows 11?
Yes, the i7-11800H processor can easily run Windows 11 because it is fully compatible and also belongs to the 11th generation which is recommended by the company for this OS. Although, this is a very high-performance processor but when this OS was newly released, it wasn’t on the official list proposed by Microsoft. But we knew that this will be updated because it is the updated Intel’s Rocket Lake CPU which was released on 30th March 2021 and has all the important specifications which are required for running this operating system.
What is the minimum i7 processor for Windows 11?
According to Microsoft, the i7 8th generation is the minimum processor supported for Windows 11. Although, all the i7 are very high-performing CPUs but the main reason for this incompatibility is the architecture and the TPM chip which is very important for security reasons. And due to this many systems like Dell Optiplex 3020 with chips such as i7-4600u and i7-3770 are still not supported by this operating system. And you won’t believe that these requirements have made plenty of 3rd and 4th generation devices useless.
